MHI Vestas to Host Danish Ambassadors August 21 at Lindø Factory
Lindø, August 17, 2018
Danish Foreign Ministry to bring 11 Danish Ambassadors from around the world to nacelle factory at Lindø as part of study trip throughout Denmark.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind will host 11 Danish Ambassadors at its Lindø nacelle factory on August 21 as part of an extensive study trip to learn more about Danish companies and how they can support Danish exports in their respective regions.
The group of dignitaries, including ambassadors from the US, Vietnam, Poland, and Portugal, will learn which strategic considerations were made by MHI Vestas when choosing production in Denmark, the company’s collaboration with universities and the scientific community, reflections on the use of automation and digitalisation, and future opportunities for the company globally.
MHI Vestas Co-CEO, Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, will be on hand to host the special guests. “It is a pleasure to host our distinguished guests at Lindø next week, some of whom are stationed in emerging offshore wind markets,” said Krogsgaard. “Denmark leads the world in renewable energy and Danish best practices are valuable exports particularly in the wind industry. We look forward to showing the ambassadors how we’ve successfully built and maintained our production in Denmark, so they can provide inspiration to foreign governments as to the benefits a thriving (offshore) wind industry can bring”.
The factory at Lindø, which manufactures nacelles exclusively for offshore wind turbines, has managed to attract highly-skilled employees from around Denmark and is a showcase for the emergence of a large-scale, green energy economy, something that is of great interest to many countries.
In addition to the MHI Vestas factory, other high-tech companies on Fyn such as Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots (MIR) will also host their own group of Danish Ambassadors as part of the Foreign Ministry’s “Made in Denmark” study tour.
