Vestas in the United Kingdom

Offshore, done right for the UK

At Vestas, innovation means designing turbines that maximise lifetime value - delivering safer builds, predictable timelines, and confidence in performance. Bigger isn’t always better; it’s about driving down the cost of energy and securing a future powered by reliable, affordable energy.

Accelerating reliable, affordable UK offshore wind

Offshore wind is shifting from ambition to reality. What matters now is certainty - from planning to operation and beyond. Vestas brings proven technology, streamlined execution, and governance that keeps progress on track. Together, we deliver safe, reliable, and affordable energy for the UK’s future.

Meet the expert: David Rooney

Offshore-ready from day one

Offshore success starts with readiness - technology, logistics, service, and alignment with UK policy ambitions. That’s where Vestas delivers. With decades of experience and a strong UK presence, we’re driving progress on major projects while guiding reforms that enable offshore growth. That clarity is vital to meeting targets and accelerating climate action.

Three landmark projects in the UK

North Hoyle

North Hoyle marked an early milestone of the UK’s offshore wind journey - and Vestas was there from day one. As Wales' first commercial offshore wind farm, it set the standard for innovation and reliability. Today, its legacy continues to inspire our commitment to powering a sustainable future.

Inch Cape

Inch Cape is set to redefine Scotland’s offshore energy landscape. With powerful V236-15 MW turbines, this almost 1.1 GW project will deliver renewable electricity to millions of homes. For Vestas, Inch Cape is more than a contract - it’s a statement of innovation and partnership driving the UK toward a net-zero future.

Vanguard West

Located 47 km off the Norfolk coast, it’s set to become one of the UK’s largest offshore wind projects, reinforcing confidence in the country’s renewable energy future. With 92 V236-15.0 MW turbines at its heart, Vanguard West shows what’s possible when industry leadership and government commitment come together – delivering renewable energy at scale for generations to come.

Building local strength for offshore wind

Our commitment to the UK market goes beyond individual projects. We invest in local capability – through partnerships and facilities that strengthen the supply chain and accelerate innovation.

The Isle of Wight blade factory has long been a cornerstone of UK manufacturing, supporting technology evolution and creating skilled local jobs. Our collaboration with the University of Bristol drives research and technological advancements that will shape the future of wind energy and contribute to a more sustainable world.

Together with engagement at UK ports and dedicated training programmes, these partnerships build an adaptable and future-ready network – designed to enable the next generation of offshore wind and deliver safe, reliable, and affordable energy for the UK.

Driving predictability for UK offshore success

By standardising platforms and linking design with logistics, we bring clarity and confidence to UK projects. Predictability means more than efficiency – it’s how we accelerate the energy transition and secure a sustainable future.

Standardisation - turning ambition into action

Standardisation turns ambition into action. By aligning turbine platforms and service processes, we cut complexity and boost efficiency. For Vestas, it means predictable performance and faster installation. For customers, it means clarity, certainty, and long-term value - because when we simplify, we accelerate the UK’s energy transition.

Innovation with purpose & predictiability

At Vestas, innovation means progress with purpose. The V236‑15.0 MW platform reflects that: smarter design, digital intelligence, and reliability built in. But innovation goes beyond the turbine - integrated logistics and purpose-built vessels keep projects on schedule and reduce complexity. For the UK, this means faster deployment and a stronger path to net zero. When innovation and execution work as one, the transition accelerates.
