MHI Vestas Celebrates Commissioning of Rampion Offshore Wind Farm

Brighton, UK

November 30, 2018

With 116 turbines now installed and commissioned, MHI Vestas celebrates completion of the largest number of wind turbines for one project in company history.

The inauguration for the 400 MW Rampion offshore wind farm, located 13 km off the Sussex coast, took place today in Brighton. The project consists of 116 V112-3.45 MW turbines and is built on the foundation of good partnership and collaboration with E.ON Climate & Renewables.

“As the first U.K. offshore wind farm in our Channel, it was a magnificent sight viewing the Rampion wind farm from the inauguration event on the i360 in Brighton,” said MHI Vestas UK Country Manager, Julian Brown, in attendance at the event. “Rampion is the largest wind farm we have supplied in terms of turbine numbers, and it has been a pleasure working with E.ON. Our technicians are now established in Newhaven supporting the wind farm operations on an ongoing basis."

The 116 turbines of the proven V112-3.45 MW platform have a long track record and will deliver solid performance to serve 350,000 British households with clean energy.
