Vestas wins 115 MW order in Sweden
The firm and unconditional order is Vestas’ second large order for V136-3.45 MW turbines in Sweden in just one day, highlighting the strong market fit of the turbine in the Swedish low wind market. With orders for more than 400 MW to date, Sweden has become the largest market for the V136-3.45 MW globally since its launch.
Svartnäs wind park, located in Dalarna County in central Sweden, has been developed by long-term Vestas customer Arise with BlackRock as the final project owner and investor.
“We are delighted to invest in the Svartnäs wind power project on behalf of our clients and to have secured Tier 1 wind turbine technology and agreed a long-term O&M agreement with Vestas. This transaction demonstrates BlackRock’s continued focus on renewable power investments, where the firm now has over $4.0bn of equity assets under management, and has invested in over 100 wind and solar projects globally,” says Rory O’Connor, Managing Director and Head of Renewable Power for Europe at BlackRock.
Klaus Steen Mortensen, President of Vestas Northern Europe, adds: “We highly appreciate our partnership with both BlackRock and Arise, and we thank them for yet again choosing Vestas and granting us the trust of being their long-term service partner for their wind power project. We look forward to a continued close collaboration throughout the wind park’s entire life time”.
The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM5000) full scope operations and maintenance service agreement. Delivery of the first turbines is planned for the third quarter of 2018, while commissioning is expected in the fourth quarter of 2018.
