Vestas receives new order in Italy for 38 MW project

Vestas has signed a new contract in Italy for the Monteverde wind park to be installed in Avellino province in the south of Italy. The 38 MW order was placed by Tozzi Sud S.P.A for the supply and installation of eight V117-3.45 MW turbines and three V112-3.45 MW turbines. The project was awarded at Italy’s last energy auction.  

The order comprises the supply and installation of the eleven wind turbines as well as a 10 year service contract. Turbine delivery is expected for the first quarter of 2018, whilst commissioning is planned for the second quarter of 2018.

“The final signature of this project is the tangible outcome of the positive collaboration we have had with Tozzi Sud. For us it is key to understand the specific needs of our customers and by working together and putting our solutions, experience, and resources at the disposal of Tozzi Sud, we managed to deliver a winning solution for the auction bid”, says Rainer Karan, Vestas’ General Manager for Eastern-Mediterranean.

With this new contract, Vestas has announced 76 MW of new orders for Italy in 2017. The company is the undisputable leader in the country with over 40 percent of the total wind energy installed in Italy.
