Vestas has appointed Srdan Cenic as Vice President of Sales and General Manager of MED East, a new unit within Vestas region MED*, that includes Romania, Bulgaria, the Balkans, and Central Asian countries. These markets were previously part of Vestas region NCE* and were officially transferred to Vestas MED in January 2025.

This restructuring supports Vestas' strategy to optimize its regional footprint enabling greater efficiency, stronger market focus, and enhanced execution capabilities. In his new role, Srdan Cenic will be responsible for expanding Vestas’ Onshore, Service, and Development businesses throughout the above-mentioned geographies.

The new unit will be headquartered in Bucharest, Romania, where Vestas has maintained a strong presence since 2008, with more than 1.2 GW of installed capacity. This strategic decision enables Vestas to align to Romania’s renewable energy targets.

With 270 employees across the MED East region, Vestas benefits from a highly experienced team with deep local market knowledge.

Commenting on his new role, Srdan stated: "I am excited to take on this new challenge, collaborate closely with the East team, and continue working with our clients in new and promising parts of the world."

As part of this regional reorganization, Ukraine has also been integrated into the MED region, under the direct management of Jose Luis Jimeno, President of Vestas MED.

Vestas remains committed to supporting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, actively operating and servicing 214 MW in the country. As part of this commitment, 83 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines will be installed at Tyligulska—Ukraine’s largest wind energy project—with a total capacity of 498 MW. The project’s first phase began operating in 2023, with the second phased scheduled for commissioning in 2026.
