3 MW Platform

 

Our 3 MW platform is designed for a broad range of wind and site conditions, onshore and offshore enabling you to mix turbines across your site or portfolio of sites, delivering industry-leading reliability, serviceability and exceptional energy capture.

The 3 MW platform was introduced in 2010 with the launch of the V112-3.0 MW®. Since then more than 13 GW of the 3 MW Platform has been installed all over the world onshore and offshore making it one of the most popular platforms in our portfolio.

Rotor diameters range from 112 to 136 meters and the rated output power is 3450 kW. Using well proven technologies like a full-scale converter, the 3 MW platform meets even the most challenging grid requirements providing excellent energy yield in all wind and weather conditions.

Large Diameter Steel Towers (LDST) are also available on the 117, 126 and 136 rotor diameters to optimise annual energy production on low wind sites.

Next generation advanced control system

The next generation advanced control system is based on industry 4.0 standards and inputs/outputs are significantly increased for a flexible and future ready system setup. The ethernet-based leaner system reduces physical components housed in the turbine by 40 percent.

Wind Classes

To increase the annual energy production, the latest 3 MW upgrade enables the use of larger rotor size variants in all wind classes.

• V136-3.45 MW™ is introduced for low- and medium-wind conditions
• V126-3.45 MW™ is upgraded to operate in medium-wind conditions
• V117-3.45 MW™ is upgraded to operate in high-wind conditions
• V112-3.45 MW™ and V105-3.45 MW™ are also certified for highwind conditions

Combined with the increase in standard rating to 3.45 MW, the larger rotor sizes mean that the annual energy production is boosted across wind classes by up to 16 percent*.
