At Vestas, we view International Women’s Day as an opportunity to celebrate the inspiring women across our organisation globally, and to reflect on our ambition to become the most inclusive workplace in the energy industry.
At Vestas, we believe that a diverse and inclusive organisation is key to ensuring the success of our company and driving progress within our industry. That’s why we’ve set ourselves an ambitious goal to become the most inclusive employer in the energy industry as part of our corporate sustainability strategy. As part of this, and as an integral aspect of our global Diversity and Inclusion approach, we’ve committed to increasing the number of women in corporate leadership positions within Vestas, with an ambition of 25% women in leadership positions by 2025 and 30% by 2030.
To achieve this, we are working on a number of initiatives to increase focus on gender diversity across Vestas, from our recruitment process to internal education and our involvement in external networks focused on improving opportunities for women in renewables. We will continue this broad approach of initiatives and focus areas for years to come.
While the underrepresentation of women is a challenge across the wind industry, one thing is clear to us at Vestas: a great passion for working in renewables, the drive to develop, and ambition to further progress in our industry is evident when speaking to women all across our organisation. We’re working steadily toward our ambition to become the industry’s most inclusive employer, and while we’re making progress, we know this is an ongoing and long-term ambition.
In the spirit of progress, join us in celebrating our colleagues this International Women’s Day – and join them in helping us achieve a more gender-equal industry by 2025 and beyond.
