Vestas uses a unique blade design developed on the back of more than 30 years’ experience and proven technology.
 
What make our blades so special are their advanced profiles. The modern profiles are designed specifically for wind turbines rather than originating from airplane wings as used traditionally in the industry. Their carbon fibre construction makes the blades slimmer, stiffer and lighter, which makes them easier to transport to site and reduces the loads on the turbines, making the turbine more efficient. The turbine also requires a smaller foundation, so foundation costs are reduced.
