Ramsgate
The Ramsgate Port is at one of the most Easterly points of England.
The harbour is constantly busy and known as a "Royal" harbour. The thriving offshore wind farm, Thanet Offshore Wind Farm has brought jobs to Ramsgate, because new creative businesses i.e. wind farms attract more residents to the area.
The harbour will continue to be busy after the Thanet Offshore Wind Farm has been erected since it will be the base for the Thanet Operations & Maintenance crew.
Dunkirk
The Dunkirk Port is France’s third largest port.
The harbour covers 7,000 hectares and is consequently capable of receiving all types of goods and the largest ships, which is imperative in relation to the space demanding offshore turbine preassembly activities.
It is equipped with modern, highly efficient facilities such as mooring capstan transfer vessels, new integrated control centre, a strong quay site for heavy cranes and 24/7 access – Such features combined make the Dunkirk port eligible for the needs of the construction of the Thanet Offshore Wind Farm.
