Vestas’ production facilities in Colorado, USA, will manufacture the main components of the turbines for this order. The blades will be made in Windsor, towers in Pueblo and nacelles assembled in Brighton. Vestas has about 1,500 manufacturing employees in Colorado.
Six Vestas customers have ordered V100-1.8 MW turbines in the last six months for projects in the United States and Canada. This is the fifth order announced for wind projects in Canada in 2010.
