Introducing the Venture Quays office

The Venture Quays office is located very close to the floating bridge, which connects East Cowes to West Cowes. Both East and West Cowes accommodate ferry terminals connecting to Southampton. We have approximately 98 employees from various backgrounds and nationalities doing a variety of jobs. We share the building with four other businesses, some of which share our interest in the environment.

A little history

Vestas Technology moved to this location in 2007 as a temporary solution to Vestas Wind Systems A/S’s rapid growth. The new headquarters for Technology R&D in the UK will be completed in 2010. The plan is to create a sustainable building where development and testing of future blades will take place.

Departments

We have a large number of departments at this location including: Quality, Product Management, Finance & Business Support, People & Culture, Global Research, Engineering & Products, and Operations.

What’s it like to work here

Like a majority of the other Vestas locations, there are always people coming and going here, visitors as well as employees. The diverse, friendly working environment is one where there are always new and interesting people to meet and converse with. Being located on the seafront and close to the town centre makes Venture Quays a perfect place for a nice walk, taking in some of the beautiful sights; or for having a quick lunch in town.

Local benefits

There are various social clubs and activities in the vicinity, in both East and West Cowes, including a number of sporting and boating clubs. Since it’s very easy to travel between the two towns, there is no shortage of activities to do or socialising spots to frequent

Sights and surroundings

This particular location is situated very close to the former royal summer residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of England. This building is now a celebrated attraction known as the Osbourne House.
