Introducing the office
The Isle of Wight is often referred to as the Jewel of the South, accessed only by ferry, hovercraft or private plane.
Saint Cross is located just outside the major town of Newport, based in the centre of the Island and is very easily accessible. Currently there are 40 employees working at Saint Cross and we are the sister site to West Medina Mills also located in Newport which is a 20 minute walk along a cycle path beside the river Medina.
A little history
The Saint Cross office was established in 2004 when it was made up of the following personnel: Production, Technology, Test and Verification, Finance, P& C and other administrative staff but in 2007 most of the Technology staff moved temporarily to Venture Quays and to date these employees have moved into our sister site West Medina Mills, and Saint Cross is now predominately a Prototype Facility.
Departments
We have the following departments at this location:
- Process Development UK
- Prototype Facility
- Production Engineering
- Administration
What’s it like to work here
You will find a small but very warm, dynamic and diverse team working at Saint Cross. The employees take pride in being friendly, cooperative and knowledgeable, which continuously enhances the great teamwork that exists among the departments and allows for an inclusive work environment, for natives as well as the non-natives on the location, of which there are quite a few.
Local benefits
Saint Cross has a gym which is shared by all employees. A little in-house soccer rivalry takes place each year as we are a multi-cultural company with the teams named as England vs. the Rest of the World which is always good fun. To ensure healthy nutrition for the employees a catering service provides employees lunch every day. A minibus provides transport for those that live on the mainland.
Sights and surroundings
With the benefits of being on a Holiday Island there is plenty to do. Castles to visit, fossil hunting especially as we are also known as the Dinosaur Isle, and Sailing. Once you have been here you will be drawn to come back.
