Introducing Vestas India

Vestas India was established over a decade ago and has installed wind turbines throughout the country. The Indian operation is headquartered in Chennai and has world-class manufacturing facilities in Chennai and Puducherry.

A little history

In 1996, Asian Wind Turbines (AWT), a subsidiary of the then NEG Micon A/s, Denmark, was established to provide service support.
In 1997, AWT becomes a subsidiary of NEG Micon A/S.
In 1998, the first larger class turbine, called the NM48 / 750 kW, was introduced in Tamilnadu.
In 2004, the largest turbine, called the NM82 / 1650 kW, was introduced in India. In 2006, NEG Micon becomes Vestas Wind Technology.
