Introducing the Headquarters for the Vestas Deutschland (Germany) GmbH
The Husum office is located in the commercial area of Husum, a town with a population of approximately 22,500 and situated by the North Sea.
Presently employing around 300 people, this Sales Business Unit (SBU) is responsible for selling and servicing wind turbines within Germany and Central Europe.
A little history
The first office in Husum was established in 1986. Since then, the site has developed from a cluster of small office containers to the seven newly renovated buildings we have today. Until 2004, Husum was a production site for nacelles – first for the V47 wind turbines and later for the V80. The old production facility is now being used for mechatronics engineer apprentice training. In 2004, Vestas merged with NEG Micon and the number of employees working in Husum grew as a result.
Who can you find in the Husum office?
Sales, Projects, Service, Finance, Controlling, Legal, Quality, Safety and Environment, People & Culture, Purchasing, Education Center, Technical Support and the Competence Center.
Working in Husum
Aside from a strong work ethic and real dedication to a job well-done, at Husum we believe in strengthening our departments and keeping morale high. One way we do this is by hosting regular, afterhours parties.
A small point of pride for the Husum crew is our newly renovated lounge-like canteen with attached, fully-equipped meetings rooms.
Sights and surroundings
By car, Husum is only 1.5 hours north of Hamburg and 1 hour south of Denmark.
It is a tourist mecca with a rich history and much to discover. Home to six museums, including a Maritimes museum, Husum is considered a “cultural metropolis.” The Port,of Husum is a must see, especially during Habour Days, a spectacular maritime event held in the summertime.
