Introducing Vestas Control Systems, Hammel
The Hammel site is home to Vestas Control Systems’ headquarters, employing approximately 600 people. The Production Business Unit is located in very tranquil surroundings approximately 30 km west of Aarhus in the central part of Denmark’s mainland called Jutland. The site is easily accessible by public transit from Aarhus and surrounding towns. There is also quick access to the Tirstrup Airport in Aarhus.
A little history
The history of Vestas Control Systems dates back to 2003 when Vestas took over the former NEG Micon. Initially, the Production Business Unit was divided between two locations, one in Aarhus and the other in Hammel. In 2008, the production site in Aarhus was moved to Hammel’s then newly developed site, which now includes an administration building, a development factory, and an electronics factory. Merging these two factories was celebrated in August 2008 with an official grand-opening event celebrated by all Vestas Control Systems’ employees.
