Introducing the Copenhagen office
The Copenhagen office is located close to the airport and the Sea with the Öresund Bridge connecting it to Sweden. A geographical location that truly accommodates the travel activity and international atmosphere that is characteristic of the Copenhagen office. There are many different nationalities working here and a wide variety of departments and job functions are represented at this location. There are presently around 75 Vestas employees working at this location. Other companies are also based in the building and we all share a great canteen where many chefs daily prepare delicious meals.
A little history
Vestas has had an office in Copenhagen since 2007, when it was decided to locate an office here in order to be close to the airport and benefit from being present in the Danish capital.
In 2008, all employees at the former temporary Copenhagen office moved here and Vestas now take up quite some space in the office complex, shown above. Not soon after the employees were settled, a very international employee staff club was established, and several future events planned, both social and cultural events.
Departments
The departments represented at this location are among others:
Government Relations, Global Mobility Centre, Employer Branding, Vestas Business Academy, Offshore, Global Risk & BCM, Process & Production Excellence and Technology R&D Communication, IPR and special tools.
What’s it like to work here
A dynamic and culturally diverse work environment makes it interesting to work in this office. There are always a lot of people travelling too and from other Vestas locations as well as visitors and meetings.
Moreover the geographical location is perfect in regards to being close to the city, the airport and the sea. Just 100 meters from the office is a metro station that can take you straight to the airport in only three minutes or to the city centre in 10 minutes. The landing and lift off of planes is visible from one side of the office building, and a recreational area combined with a newly established beach and harbour front on the other side.
Local ‘benefits’
Among some of the local benefits to working in the Copenhagen office is the international employee staff club that arranges many cultural and social events, through which one can get to know ones colleagues well. The events planned span from museum visits, seasonal parties to other fun get-togethers. Off late the employees in the Copenhagen office have been tasting wine at the American embassy as well as playing human football in an amusement centre close to the office. The beach is only a 100 meters away, so in summer time the possibilities to go for a swim or have a BBQ after work are impeccable.
Sights and surroundings
As the office is located in the city of Copenhagen local employees can enjoy all that the city has to offer. This concerns what the city has to offer culturally and socially, as well as the wide range of great restaurants, cafes, shops and historical sights.
And since the office is located so close to the sea and a newly established recreational area, the local surroundings invites to go for pleasant strolls and (when the weather allows it) swims, and barbeques.
