Introducing the Technology R&D office
The Technology R&D headquarter at Hedeager in Skejby, Aarhus, currently employs about 600 people from many different nationalities. Another 200 are working at other locations in Aarhus, and are waiting for the Tech II extension to be completed. They will then join their colleagues under one roof. The extension of the existing building will be ready by May 2010.
A little history
The Technology centre in Skejby was inaugurated in November 2008. The idea for this site was developed to create an atmosphere that fostered knowledge sharing and promoted flexibility to support creative thinking and a common Technology R&D culture – all to build the best turbines of the future.

Management Secretary Helle Hansen says, “The Hedeager office is inspiring because it’s architecturally different. We have good working conditions, characterised by peace and serenity, even though it’s buzzing with activity. We have a lot of quiet rooms throughout the building, which allows for us to work quietly or have a spontaneous meeting. Last but not least, we have Denmark’s best canteen.” This was underlined in 2009, as the canteen received the national award ‘Best Canteen of the year’.
Local benefits
Among some of the local benefits to working in the Aarhus office is the employee staff club that arranges cultural and social events. The planned events span from family excursions, talks held by well-known people, seasonal parties, to other fun get-togethers.
In the office building there is also a fitness room, and employees can book a massage with a certified masseur. There is also a recreational area with darts, table tennis, foosball, pool, and air hockey.
Sights and surroundings
The office is located in the northern part of Aarhus, so local employees can enjoy all that the city has to offer in just a few minutes’ drive. Aarhus offers a lot of cultural and social activities as well as a wide range of great restaurants, cafes, shops and historical sights. Aarhus is located by the sea and has large forests for outdoor recreation as well.
