Five factories and a supply center
Vestas Wind Technology (China) Co., Ltd. is located in the West Area of Technology – Economical Development Area, Tianjin, China. There are shared functions and the following five factories as well as one Supply Center in Tianjin:
- Blades factory
- Nacelle factory
- Generator factory
- Control Systems factory
- Machining factory
- Tower Supply Center
There are presently around 1700 Vestas employees working at the different facilities.
The city of Tianjin is the third largest in China (after Beijing and Shanghai) and houses a lot of industry. Its location by the Hai River means that transport of goods to the rest of the world is favourable.
Vestas has had an office here since Oct 2005. With four years of development, the buildings and factories have been set up one after another. In year 2006, the Blades factory was established as the first one and then followed the Nacelle factory and Generator factory. In 2008, our Control systems factory and Machining factory also opened in Tianjin. In 2009, Tianjin welcomed our Tower Asia Supply Center which is developing now.

Introducing the factory
Vestas Control Systems’ factory in Tianjin is located at the West Zone of TEDA in Tianjin, China. Vestas Control Systems factory in Tianjin first started its production in April 2009, and now includes a production line for 2 MW with a capacity of more than a 1000 units per year. Total square of land is 38,000m2, the building area is 16,000m2 and the factory employs approximately 135 people.
A little history
The factory in Tianjin is the latest addition of sites for Vestas Control Systems. The first step to build the factory was taken in June 2008 and was followed by the hiring of management and key specialists in August 2008. From November 2008, the shipment of equipment to the factory begun and the factory was ready to start installation in February 2009. In March 2009, the takeover celebration took place and production was officially launched in April 2009.

Tanggu Bund (Haihe Waitan Gongyuan), landmark of Tanggu District, has the highest fountain in China, which is 170 meters in height and 360 meters in width. The 580-metre-long Ancient Cultural Street is a major tourist destination where Tianjin's old traditions remain largely intact. Imitation Qing buildings, houses nearly a 100 shops and includes sales of various traditional Chinese items.
