A beacon of excellence
From a record field of 391 entrants, Vestas was awarded the prestigious Zayed Future Energy Prize in January 2011. The award, the largest in the renewable energy industry, honours what the judges consider to be outstanding leadership and achievement in the field.
Zayed committee chairman, Nobel Prize winner Dr RK Pachauri, hailed Vestas’ three decades of innovation in the wind power industry. The judging panel further praised the company’s pioneering spirit, long-term vision and business model.
Winning this prize demonstrates our ongoing commitment to wind. As such, we donated half of the prize money to WindMadeTM, the UN-backed organisation we co-founded to help consumers make greener purchasing choices.
