Randi, Senior Vice President, Vestas Spare Parts & Repair

My role

As Senior Vice President of the Finance Department in Vestas Spare Parts & Repair, my main focus is to meet the business’ requirements for financial support, both at strategic and operational level - and of course, strive to support the business a bit better than expected by delivering to unforeseen needs. I'm responsible for financial reporting, control, budgeting and forecasting, and I partner with the different Business Units when it comes to strategy implementation, sales and operations. As a member of our International Leadership Team, I am able to step in for the President whenever the need arises.

My career path

The challenges I have encountered in my career and the opportunities for personal and professional development, I have been presented with, have made it possible for me to arrive at where I am today. A number of good managers’ support, belief in my capabilities and their raising of the bar again and again to ensure my development have been crucial elements in my career development.
I am educated as a state-authorized public accountant and have a professional background within accountancy. I have been responsible for finance departments in an international company within the automotive industry and for an international luxury brand company. Here I was responsible for both IT, Finance, Human Resources and Facility Management. I have achieved INSEAD Certifications; e.g. in Achieving Outstanding Performance. My career journey has now brought me to Vestas Spare Parts & Repair. I’m here because of my passion for companies with high-quality products and high ethical standards. What matters is not to do the easy or quickest thing, but to do the right thing. Our continuous endeavours to achieve this motivates me and makes me go to work happy.

My network

I have engaged myself in different networks in Vestas and thereby surrounded myself with people who inspire me to think differently. This can be due to their background, their position, or their view on people. It helps me to broaden my perspective and makes me a better decision-maker.
In Vestas Spare Parts & Repair, I’m the Code of Conduct Ambassador and a member of the workers' council. In Vestas Group, I’m a member of the CFO network, and I’m about to join the newly-established Inclusion & Diversity Council. This gives me the opportunity to influence the composition of Vestas’ future workforce, where I firmly believe that diversity in culture, competences, personality, gender and age are important for Vestas' success – as long as we always select the candidate with the best competences for the position.

My Vestas

Vestas Spare Parts & Repair is part of the service market; a market of great importance for Vestas because the quality of service deliveries has a significant influence on the customers’ return-on-investment and their satisfaction. I find it highly rewarding and motivating to be a part of a BU with such an important role to play. For me, Vestas Spare Parts & Repair is a place where we do our very best to achieve the highest quality in our products, processes and people - and we are having fun while doing it. That is why I’m here, both today and tomorrow.

My life

My family and friends are fantastic and I spend as much time with them as possible. Sometimes we meet over sports activities such as tennis and in the winter we go skiing in Austria. Other times we meet over a good dinner and conversation. When I’m on my own, I enjoy reading crime novels, which I can spend hours on. It helps to clear my mind and gives me great pleasure.
