Guido, Vice President, Construction Vestas Central Europe

Guido, Vice President

My role

As Vice President of Construction in Vestas Central Europe (CEU), I’m committed to deliver the best quality of our wind turbines during the installation phase. Our target is also to deliver and install Vestas wind turbines at the right time in the supply chain, while focusing on satisfying the customers. Internally, of course, we always try to achieve the lowest costs and the highest revenue for a project.
Furthermore, my ambitions are to get colleagues in Construction CEU aligned, in order to transfer knowledge and best practices to everyone and to create a work environment that allows for innovation, daily operations and creativity.

My career path

I started with the company NEG Micon in 2000 as a Project Manager in Germany and in 2004 that company merged with Vestas. In the Project Department in Germany, I became the responsible for the region of Northern Germany. Our department has strongly grown up since then, especially in the past years. In 2008 I was promote to director level for the all of Germany and in the two years since then I have continuously learned new things within Vestas. All the while, trying to find possibilities for improvements.
Since April 2010, I have been the Vice President for the entire Construction Department within Vestas Central Europe. I’m looking forward in pleasant anticipation to the challenges that the new areas like East Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia and the former Soviet Republics will bring - to me and to Vestas.

My network

My network consists of a lot of colleagues, external collaboration partners, former colleagues, customers, subcontractors and fitter companies. During the last years with Vestas, my network has expanded and in the future I am sure it will continue to grow consistently.
I think in connection with the roll out of the global Sales Business Unit alignment a better transfer of knowledge will be possible in the company. Every employee has the opportunity to get to know his counterpart within Vestas and to collect know-how. Every day I use my network to create interaction platforms for knowledge sharing and for improvements and of course to solve  the challenges we meet A diverse network in- and outside of Vestas is in my opinion an important factor for working in a global company, also with regards to expanding my own personal experience in several aspects.

My Vestas

In my life, Vestas takes up a central part. In collaboration with my colleagues and my team, it is my own target to optimize our products to increase customer loyalty and to reach our Triple 15 targets. I am determined to work in a professional way in close cooperation with my team. Furthermore it is our intention to present Vestas as a global and environmentally aware company all over the world. I feel proud to work in the area of green industry.

My life

Outside Vestas, I spent most of my spare time with my family. I live together with my wife and my two children next to the North Sea in the northernmost part of Germany. There’s always wind in this area. So wind is also an attendant in my private ambiance. In my spare time, I also like running outside, going to concerts, starting excursions with my family and to read magazines and newspapers.
