Tusitha Abeyasekera, Development Engineer:
“Personally, I consider it very rewarding to be a part of new opportunities for future energy production using the very latest technology.”
Tusitha Abeyasekera is an engineer who develops the wind turbine’s power conversion unit. The unit efficiently and safely converts wind power to electricity which then is exported to the grid.
”My main challenge is developing innovative and reliable solutions while being cost-conscious. My background is a PhD in renewable energy power conversion. Before joining Vestas, I worked as a research associate in a university R&D department developing wind power converter systems.”
”I chose Vestas because I knew it was the perfect company to apply my competences and experience while also pursuing a career in wind energy. The attitudes and commitments towards the individual employee’s work/life balance and professional development were the deciding factors – plus the fact that Vestas is the leader in wind power and modern energy. I have to admit that the openness, high level of freedom with responsibility and investments in the individual’s well-being make Vestas a unique and an ideal place to work.”
An active part of future energy production

Personally, I consider it very rewarding to help open up new possibilities for future energy production by applying the very latest technology.”
