Jing

Employer Brander for China, Talent Acquisition, P&C Shared Services, China

My role

I am responsible for employment branding for Vestas in China and spend my time bridging national branding needs and local input from recruiters and HR business partners across different business units in China with the global employer branding strategy and plans. According to our overall goals, my role is to implement all the plans which not only brand Vestas as a great employer to external talents, but also spread out our belief in green energy and enhance internal engagement.

I just started in my current job in September this year and my most exciting assignment at the moment is to formulate the Employer Branding strategy for Vestas China by listening to different stakeholders, including recruiters, business partners and the global employer branding team.

My everyday work life

My everyday life in Vestas is challenging and exiting. My department is newly set-up, and I am the first full time employer brander who’s responsible for China in its entirety. I have a lot of responsibilities and ideas that I strive to realize and achieve good results.

The atmosphere in the offices where I’ve worked has been open, respectful, friendly, efficient and very helpful. I noticed it in particular when I started working in Denmark. My colleagues tried hard to get me integrated in the team, by speaking English whenever I was around, explaining what they think might be new or different to me, listening to my ideas and needs. But this didn’t lead me to feel different at all because they treated everyone the same way.

My path in Vestas

My first rotation was in the recruitment team of P&C, Vestas China, where my tasks were to streamline and reform recruitment processes and practices, and recruit talents. My second rotation was in the training and development team of P&C, Vestas Blades in Denmark, giving me the opportunity to support a project setting up orientation for all our new factories globally going forward, and the launch of new training courses.
My last rotation was in the talent management team of P&C, Vestas Technology in Denmark. My role was project specialist in a project which was to set-up a career development program for system engineers, including designing the program, selecting participants and setting up training and development activities.

All tasks during my graduate program were new and challenging to me. The most challenging one was from the beginning when I was the project manager reforming recruitment processes and practices. I had very limited experience of recruitment before the project, and with high trust and great responsibilities, I learned and achieved a lot. Now I have been around in different areas of human resource management and I have a clear understanding of what kind of talents we are looking for, how we develop them and evaluate their performances. So when I brand Vestas, I know whom I should target with what.

My opportunities

I have strong belief in the wind energy, and with the technology development and the investment in technology, I do think that Vestas will maintain its leadership in the industry. Working in such a strong and growing company, I see a lot of opportunities in terms of promotion and enrichment of working experience.
Resting assure that the management in Vestas believes that people comes before megawatt, I know that talent is our key asset, and feel that we invest in people and their development to ensure we have a strong people pipeline. The employees’ development is planned through clear communication about our business needs, support of open dialogue between manager and fellow-colleagues and tailored development solutions.

My life

I like travelling. Seeing different parts of the world, learning about different cultures and experiencing different ways of living is my biggest interest. During my two years as a Graduate, I’ve been to Sweden, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, U.S., U.K. etc. The Graduate Programme provided a great opportunity to see around the world.
