Power Programme

At Vestas, we are thinking ahead – and in 2008 we will open the world’s largest development centre for wind energy. This new, advanced centre will be the driving force behind global research and the development of wind turbines. But ultimately our results depend on skills – and this is where you fit into the picture.

We are currently looking for the very best talents

Talents with the potential to make modern energy the preferred supplement to oil and gas. In partnership with the University of Aalborg we are therefore introducing a research programme called the Vestas Power Programme. The programme is the largest and most comprehensive partnership ever made between a wind turbine producer and a university.

Power Programme

Three research programmes and ten PhD projects set the agenda

In the next five years the Vestas Power Programme will sponsor three research programmes that will comprise at least ten PhD projects in wind energy, power electronics and energy storage. Engineering students and graduates from all over the world who wish to continue their studies at a Danish university are eligible for the programme. A key specialist on a five-year professorship will coordinate the Vestas Power Programme.

Can your ideas revolutionise renewable energy?

The Vestas Power Programme will give us the technological know-how to develop bigger and more efficient wind turbines – and thereby open up new possibilities for the wind industry.
