Stuart Claridge, Production employee:
”We need to think about supplementary energy production – for the sake of the environment and our own.”
Stuart, who has worked in the wind industry since 2000, started on the Isle of Wight for Aerolaminates, which became part of NEG Micon, which then merged with Vestas. Today, he lives in Denmark with his Danish girlfriend and their ten-month-old son. Stuart is currently responsible for quality and training in a production team.
When quality comes first - 44-meter blades are possible
”I help with the production of blades - 44 metres in length! My daily challenge is to help ensure that quality comes first every time we build a blade. I also help new colleagues quickly feel like they are part of the team.”
”I honestly believe that the need for modern energy and wind energy will only increase given the scarcity of oil and gas resources, and people today think greener and more responsibly. Modern energy will contribute to the world becoming a cleaner and better place to live. We need to think about supplementary energy production – for the sake of the environment and ourselves.”
A privilege to work for No. 1
”Vestas is a fantastic place to work. They take good care of their employees and listen to what their needs are. You have every opportunity to improve your skills, for example, through individual training courses. Not only that, it is a privilege to work for the No. 1 leader in the wind industry and the future prospects look bright. So if you are on the lookout for challenges in a global company driven by growth, there are plenty of opportunities. I’ve settled in well, am learning Danish and can picture myself staying here for a really long time.”
