My Profile
A big Hi from India! My name is Suraj and I am a part of the 2009 March team. I joined Vestas four months ago after completing my MBA from National University of Singapore. I am currently working in Business Process Improvement at Technology R&D in Chennai. A couple of weeks ago, the process for identifying my second rotation began. And it looks like it will be very different and even more exciting than my first module!
My Career Path
I have always looked at my career as a 30 year commitment. Across the next 30 years it is vital that I stay in an industry that is growing, a company that will grow with the industry and I work in an area which grows with the company. The Graduate Programme at Vestas ticks all the boxes. The wind industry is one of the hottest industries, Vestas is No. 1 in Modern Energy and the Graduate Programme is the best way to enter Vestas for me.
My network
Through the Graduate Programme I have the opportunity to build an extensive network. In my second week in Vestas, I had lunch with the CEO of the company. During our first training camp in Barcelona, I met three members of the Vestas Government and several top executives in the company. At my workplace, I report to the Managing Director and interact with Directors on a day to day basis. Most of all, I have been able to interact with Graduates from different countries and cultures.
My Vestas
My Vestas is engaged in fighting the two biggest challenges facing our globe – the water crisis and climate change. Governments across the world are trying to create a green economy as the world wriggles out of the global financial crisis. As I experience it, Vestas is at the centre of green economy and being a technology driven company, Technology R&D is at the centre of Vestas. So, I get to be at the centre of the centre!
My life
I love travelling and discovering new cultures. So, the Graduate Programme is perfect for me. Besides travelling I love books – both reading and writing. My favourite book is the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Being in the Graduate Programme, I feel like the little boy in the Alchemist who is on a journey to achieve his life’s dreams.
