Else, Vestas Graduate

My role:

Hi there! My name is Else and I’m from Team 2008. I work as a Finance and Operations Graduate. I joined Vestas a couple of months before the Graduate Programme start-up. My first module is at Group Finance at the Vestas headquarters in Randers, Denmark. The area and location for my next module will be decided in December 2008.

My career path:

I chose the Graduate Programme as my ambition is to become a future leader at Vestas. It’s definitely a fast-track career and it really motivates me to take on challenging assignments that make a difference to the business. The learning curve is steep and the outcome is great.

My network:

Experienced colleagues are always ready to help. It’s great to be surrounded by talented colleagues and to have an experienced colleague as a mentor. I get advice about my daily challenges and guidance on the choices I make regarding my future career. Networking is an essential skill for launching a career in such a large
company. The Graduate Programme is set up to boost your network with other Graduates and the rest of the organisation.

My Vestas:

It takes a strong team to be ‘No. 1 in Modern Energy’. At Vestas there’s a willingness to adapt and to take proactive steps to impact the market. Vestas is growing fast, so the opportunities are incredible if you are young, ambitious and eager to take on new challenges.

My life:

Most of my life I have been involved in different kinds of volunteer work. For many years I was coaching handball for children and I have also helped in organizing different events to fund the handball club. At the university I was part of Economic Association arranging company presentations and social events for the students. At this moment I’m heavily involved in a network for young, female professionals called FrontCircle. In FrontCircle I have obtained a forum to gain new knowledge, get inspired and obtain new relations both on a professional and personal level. On a more unserious level I also like hanging out with my friends and going to music concerts.
