We grant up to six months of support for outstanding master’s degree students while they work on their master's thesis in wind power at universities worldwide. You and your university supervisor define the project in co-operation with Vestas. We encourage you to have a clear vision about your project before your supervisor submits a declaration of interest on your behalf. You will work closely with us through your supervisor and a Vestas engineer, who plays a direct part in your project.
As a master's degree student in the Global University Programme, you spend up to 25% of your time at a Vestas Technology R&D center. We are located in Denmark (headquarters), the UK (primarily blades), Singapore, India, Germany (drive train only), or as of 2009, the USA. The remainder of the time is spent at your university.
Basic conditions
- The grades you have obtained for your bachelor and master's degrees, excluding your master's thesis, must in both cases place you among the 20% best students at your university.
- You must be fluent in oral and written English.
- You must not receive grants from other companies during the scholarship period.
- If granted a Vestas scholarship, accepting other paid work during the scholarship period is not allowed.
Symposium and career day
Apart from having an annual career day, Vestas arranges a scholarship symposium once a year for our scholarship students, the university supervisor and the Vestas engineers associated with the projects. Upon completion of your master's degree, Vestas may offer you an employment opportunity, including the option of pursuing a PhD with us.
