My role
I am responsible for development of test equipment for the production test of all Vestas’ electronic modules and for the development of the software platforms used for these production tests. I have a group of very talented and highly motivated employees and my role is to give them clear borders to operate within and a goal to reach.
My career path
In Vestas there are many opportunities. When you show commitment and passion for job you get a lot of support to develop and influence your own career. After three years as a software developer my boss liked what he saw and when the right position became available I was encouraged to enroll for it – and I got it. Today I have been a people manager for 1.5 years and I am still thrilled to go to work everyday because the Vestas of tomorrow is not the Vestas of today.
Being a young people manager in Vestas I have a lot of opportunities still laying ahead. Some of the exciting challenges I see in Vestas are getting a global mindset and being able to influence the environment in an inspiring working atmosphere.
My network
I am fortunate to be part of the Vestas High Potential Development program. Through this I get great opportunities to network with various colleagues from all over the globe. We share challenges and new ideas so that we can learn from each other. Employees are encouraged to set up communities to share knowledge and insights across countries and business units within the same functional area, and as a manager it is my role to support and sometimes facilitate these communities.
My Vestas
I get the opportunity to get out of the office to share my experiences and meet with students or other future colleagues – this is very inspiring. I also get the chance to promote what I see as the “greenest” company of the world.
My life
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons (3 and 6) and friends. My family and I love to be outdoors and therefore we live in the countryside where there is room for outdoor play, gardening, and small-scale farming.
