My role
I work as a project manager in Supply Chain Management in Hammel, Denmark. I recently finished a project regarding establishing a new factory in Tianjin, China, and now I am working on a project which deals with establishing new production lines in one of our factories in Spain. Working as a project manager means I have a variety of tasks, I have to be detail oriented and meet deadlines.
My career path
I have a master’s degree in international business and my thesis focused on the Danish wind energy industry and its market in China. I felt that Vestas could give me the global career that I have always been seeking. Now three years after joining Vestas I have learned that the possibilities are many more than expected.
I started at Vestas as a business analyst, which gave me great insight to the responsibilities, performance measures, supplier cooperation and the daily routines we have in the supply chain department. Nearly two years ago I was promoted to project manager, which broadened my scope of work and responsibilities and I was able to gain new knowledge through Vestas’ project manager education programme.
My network
My network in Vestas is very large as I work with many different projects. Everyday I work with different people across organizational levels and cultures. This dynamic network inspires me and helps me meet challenges and get tasks completed faster. As I see it, I have a global network of 18,000 talented colleagues!
My Vestas
I find Vestas a very global and modern company that offers great possibilities. Within the same company you have the opportunity for a fast moving career, excellent education, global mobility and cooperation across cultures and organizations. Right now I am very exciting as I prepare to move to Spain for six months as I have been granted a position with one of our factories there; new challenges all the time!
Vestas has also increased my awareness of the need for sustainable energy. Even though I am just a small piece in the puzzle I still feel my work is making a change!
My life
I’m 28 years old and live in Århus, Denmark. Most of my leisure time is spent with friends and family. I play handball, golf and when it’s not too cold outside I go jogging. I also like to travel around Europe – I try to visit at least one major European city per year.
