At 30 September 2009, Vestas had 117,068 registered shareholders, who combined represented 176,712,861 shares, or approx 87 per cent of Vestas' share capital. At the end of September 2009, approx 57 per cent of Vestas' registered capital was held by the company's 50 largest shareholders, including custodian banks.
Based on the information available as at 30 September 2009, an estimated 68 per cent of Vestas' total share capital, including shares not registered by name, was believed to be held by shareholders outside Denmark.
