Consideration for environmental aspects support Vestas’ products and thereby Vestas' business concept. Moreover, the positive environmental aspects of wind power are indisputable. We work continuously to reduce impact on the external environment and to improve occupational health & safety.
This policy on the environment and occupational health & safety applies to all activities within the Vestas Group.
The policy states:
- To give highest priority to safety
- To achieve continuous improvements in the fields of the environment and occupational health and safety
- To devote the necessary care as regards to development, manufacture, service procedures and disposal
- To integrate consideration for employees and surroundings in the planning and performance of activities
- To ensure an open-minded and honest communication with the employees and other stakeholders
- To optimise the utilisation of resources
- To exert influence on suppliers so that they deliver environmentally safe products and services
- To ensure that, as a minimum, Vestas' activities comply with national legislation concerning environment and occupational health & safety
Vestas implements this policy by:
- Maintaining a certifiable management system according to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
- Integrating consideration for the environment and occupational health & safety in the development of products and processes
- Communicating knowledge about the environment, occupational health & safety and improvement of health to the employees and other stakeholders
- Measuring and documenting Vestas' impacts on employees and surroundings
- Preparing an annual external environmental statement
- Ensuring that Vestas' activities comply with national legislation and respect the Danish level wherever possible as the Vestas standard
