At Vestas, we have designated a number of key figures for environmental and occupational health & safety issues. The key indicators are based on products, use of resources, waste disposal, emissions, occupational health & safety and the local community. The figures are relevant to understanding our development, profits and financial position. Therefore we follow developments closely. For relevant environmental and occupational health & safetyworking environment issues indicators have also been set for:
- CO2 savings
- Share of sustainable energy
- Incidence of industrial injuries
- Absences due to illness
- The percentage of Vestas certified according to ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001 standards

We regard our employees as the most important resource to achieve our targets and results and our efforts to maintain and expand our position as the world’s leading supplier of modern energy solutions. Industrial injuries are deemed a significant issue, as safety has always come first at Vestas. Absence due to illness has been chosen as a way to measure the well-being of employees.
