See the history of Vestas as told and adapted for the screen in 14 episodes by TV/MIDT-VEST. “The history is a mix of family tale and political game. It is a fantastic industrial fairy tale,” says journalist Flemming Christensen who worked on the series for over two years. Or, as one of the participants says in describing the Vestas history, “There is only one thing that exceeds imagination, and that is reality!”
It is the history of a company that started as a small smithy in Lem, Denmark, and is now the world’s largest producer of wind turbines.
In addition to the Hansen family, who founded the company, and the management through the years, several staff member are interviewed as well. Some of them have been at Vestas for more than 30 years and have lived through the big changes.
The series also portrays the merger with NEG Micon and the changes that took place since Ditlev Engel took over as Group President and CEO in May 2005. The series ends in March 2006, when Ditlev Engel is to present his first annual financial statement as President and CEO for Vestas.
